Oral Surgeon Len Tolstunov, DDS, DMD

Dr. Len Tolstunov is a Diplomate of the American Board of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, and a Diplomate of International Congress of Oral Implantologists.This is unique. Dr. Len Tolstunov is the only surgical specialist in California who holds three Diplomate statuses in both Oral Surgery and Oral Implantology.

Dr. Tolstunov was born in Moscow, Russia. In 1985 he graduated from the prestigious Moscow Dental University with Summa Cum Laude and spent three years specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Emergency/ Trauma Hospital in Moscow.

In 1989 he moved to San Francisco where he studied from 1990 to 1997 in the two finest Health Care Universities in the United States, UOP and UCSF. In 1992 he graduated from the University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry with Honors and in 1997 from UCSF (University of California San Francisco) Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Training Program.

Since 1997, Dr. Len Tolstunov has been practicing the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He is the owner of the practice Van Ness Oral Surgery and Implantology Center. Dr. Len Tolstunov is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, and a Diplomate of International Congress of Oral Implantologist.

He is a fellow of the American and California Associations of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Fellow of International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and a member of local and national dental and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery associations including the American Dental Association, American Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Tolstunov holds the part time teaching position of an Associate Clinical Professor at the Pacific University, School of Dentistry. Dr. Tolstunov has his inventions and is also a CPR and ACLS provider and instructor.

Dr. Tolstunov organized and leads a well-known implant study group in San Francisco (basic and advanced) with continuing educational implant seminars for the general dentists to enhance their knowledge in a new implant technology and restorative practice.

Dr. Tolstunov's hobbies include playing piano, enjoying classical and jazz music, dancing, tennis, volleyball, and skiing. He is fluent in both English and Russian. His wife Marina and he are proud parents of two beautiful children, Deana and Antony.
